'Tis beautiful when the spiritual and sensual find such blissful common ground.

Congrats to both of you!

Happy anniversary to you and the lovely Mrs. Jones! I'm figuring the start of the day was delightful, so I hope it ends on an equally high note.

SO beautiful. So sensual and loving. Here's to many more years of Sunday tradition.

And a thunderstorm? WOW.

SM - Glad you liked it. . .

2am - Thanks. And you know, the spiritual component of sexuality is rather huge. So yeah, when it's working right, it's a thing of beauty. . .

Cocotte - Well Happy Anniversary to you and your hubs! Hope it was given a suitably joyous observance!

Sailor - And Happy Anniversary to you and Lynn! (Must be something about early August. . .)

Glad you enjoyed this; and may you yet enjoy it on an even, um, deeper level. . . ;)

faDKoG - Thank you! And yes, the day ended on a suitably high note, which involved the bottle of champagne we never got around to opening for last year's anni, and the first three-in-a-day we've had in quite a while. . .

Sulpicia - Sunday Morning is one of our very favorite traditions. . .

And our day was marked by multiple thunderstorms, including the one in the afternoon that cut my bike ride short, and which I just barely managed to outrace to shelter before it hit, requiring me to call Molly to come and pick me up, which just sorta added to the whole 'we're in this together' vibe. . .

Therese - Thank you!

Lime - Thank you!

(*blushing*)

Well, you know, we're just here for the world; whatever the world needs, you know? ;)

Wait... you mean Song of Songs isn't simply talking about pomegranates and sheep? It's alluding to something sexual??? :-)

Happy anniversary. Enjoy the aromatic gardens.

Desmond Jones said...

FTN - Well, there's a centuries-long tradition of interpreting the Song on multiple levels, 'literal' and 'allegorical' being two of the choices. You may have noticed that the 'allegorical' interpretation has tended to get more airplay from pulpits, over the centuries. . .

And of course, the Song of Songs fits right in with the whole Theology of the Body thing - what do our bodies, and especially our sexuality, tell us about God?

And aromatic gardens (Molly's, at any rate) are my favorite places in all the Universe. . .
